Participants will learn how to write clear, measurable learning objectives, identify course materials and assessments that align with those objectives, and evaluate the overall coherence of course elements. The session emphasizes backward design as a practical approach to creating intentional, goal-driven learning experiences.

Upon completion of this learning experience, participants will be able to:


define the concept of alignment as it pertains to curriculum design and development
write appropriately stated learning objectives using best practices (e.g., learning taxonomy)
suggest course materials and assessments that are aligned with learning objectives
