On November 6th, all of the graduate school teaching fellows met for the first all fellows meeting on November 6th. Dr. Kirstin Parkin ran a workshop on Equitable and Culturally Responsive Teaching Practices where we discussed ways to make the classroom a more inclusive place. She mentioned how impactful a introductory survey can be in getting to know your students, so I thought I'd share my version here.

Following a conversation I was part of yesterday about what inclusive teaching and learning practices might actually look like in a college classroom, I looked around at various other schools in the Big Ten and put together a list of interesting links attached below. Please have a closer look if you are thinking about how to incorporate inclusive practices into your own teaching. Or if you just want to check that you're on the right track already.

Goals of the overarching Commons efforts:
- To ignite a social movement at MSU that recognizes, values, and celebrates all members of the MSU community who help educate our campus- in and out of the formal classroom.
- Shift the campus culture of teaching and learning to celebrate and promote the innovative practices happening at MSU.
- Exists as a shared resource for educators, built by educators throughout the university.
- Promote collaboration and growth in competency-grounded teaching practice through various spaces, both physical and digital.
