After attending a learning community yesterday afternoon (and looking at MSU's online guidelines) on diversity, equity, and inclusion, I took a stab at putting together a two-minute Doodly video on the subject but pitched to the students in my courses. I've embedded it within the Week Six module of each course since part of student teamwork next week will be assessing their team dynamic, habits, and processes in the completion of Project #1, which teams are turning in on Friday, October 1st. Invariably, there will be a few teams who had interpersonal and/or work habit problems due to procrastination, poor planning, or weak organization. I've tried to use very basic DEI guidelines/definitions as a way to help teams think about their approach and improve collaboration for the latter 2/3 of the semester. See what you think. Equitable Pedagogy Learning Community- Reminder for our meeting this Friday 10/20/23 from 10:00am-11:30am! We have both in-person and Zoom options available!
Remember, our meetings will always take place from 10-11:30am the 3rd Friday of every month for the semester.
For our meeting on Friday, we have two different papers to discuss about student resilience (I know they seem long, but there are lots of really big data tables).

Hello!
The MSU Department of Police and Public Safety is hosting a Community Cool Down event outside of the STEM Teaching and Learning Facility this Thursday, August 3rd, 2023 from 11:00am to 2:00pm. The event is open to all students, faculty, and staff and the goal is to provide a safe space and opportunity for the Spartan community to get energized ahead of the fall semester. There will be a DJ, yard games, cool treats, and more. We hope to see you there!

Greetings! I'm Dustin De Felice and tomorrow (10/22) I will be hosting an AMA on ideas for Hyflex classrooms. With the addition of cameras and microphones in classroom spaces across campus, the ability to link students online and in person has never been greater. While there are still challenges with this type of classroom, I have been exploring various formats, scheduling strategies, and modality choices with an eye toward future semesters. Please share your questions, add a thought, or even a description of how your classroom looks now by commenting on this post and I'll share what I know. Looking forward to having a conversation about Hyflex classrooms!
