As a returning fellow, Alex continued the work of his 2018-19 fellows project, the “peer mentoring toolkit”. A white paper that he and a 2019 Leadership Academy participant wrote was successfully incorporated into the mentoring toolkit released by TGS taskforce. Alex also worked closely with his college on implementing a new mentoring model (based on the strategies outlined in his co-authored white paper). His work has led to both college-level changes to approaches to and assessment of mentoring, as well as change at the unit level (i.e. one unit he worked with has moved to an entirely new system for assessing mentoring).
