Good morning! My name is Megan Mikhail, and today I will be hosting an AMA on supporting student mental health and wellness. I am a 4th year PhD student in clinical psychology who specializes in working with adolescents and young adults with concerns related to anxiety, depression, and disordered eating. My research also focuses on these areas, including how environmental stressors like food insecurity can exacerbate mental health concerns. I also have experience teaching on topics related to mental health. Please share your questions by commenting on this post and I'll share what I know!

Good morning Teaching Toolkit Tailgate! I'm Ellie Louson, your AMA host for Sept 1st. Ask me anything about experiential learning in undergrad courses. I don't know everything, but I am glad to share what I've learned facilitating experiential courses at MSU under the Spartan Studios project: the good, the bad, and the surprising. At last year's tailgate we made stuff out of Play-Doh and I want today to be just a much fun!

DUSTIN - My experience with video making has consisted of recording zoom meetings and using my cell phone's front-facing camera. I'm a novice and low tech to say the least. What recommendations do you have for someone like me to get started? Are there key considerations I should reflect on before starting? Does MSU have any tools to help me? Where/how does accessibility come in?

I'm Brittany Dillman and today I will be hosting an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Teaching Online: Pedagogy, Assessment & Instructor Presence.

I have my PhD in Educational Psychology and Educational Technology from MSU and currently work with the Master of Arts in Educational Technology (MAET) program in the College of Education. I am currently teaching a learning theories course and a technology teaching across the curriculum course, so I pretty much live, eat, and breath pedagogy, assessment, and instructor presence in online learning spaces.

Please share your questions, comments, concerns, or ideas by commenting on this post and I'll share what I know (or ask the best questions I can come up with). Let's have a conversation about teaching online!

SARAH - Thanks for joining AMAs this morning! I have a couple of questions. 1) What is included in "co-curricular" activities? Is this any and all things a learned participates in that is outside of class? Maybe you could share some examples? 2) How can I as an MSU educator be more intentional about encouraging/valuing co-curricular experiences for learners?
