Good morning! I'm today's AMA Host on Making/Using Videos. I believe adding videos to any course (online or face-to-face) can provide students with a number of benefits. Videos can often provide deeper connections to course content, inspire and engage students, and put more autonomy into the hands of learners. The key becomes making videos effective, efficient, and adaptable. I have lots of tips that I've learned from so many experts on campus. Hello! I am Anne Baker and today I will be hosting an AMA on designing elearning modules. I currently work for MSU Extension as an learning and talent devleopment specialist, and because we have 600+ MSU employees dispersed across the state of Michigan, I spend a lot of time designing and delivering elearning modules. Before my current position, I worked as an instructional designer in private industry. I also have worked a lot with language teaching and the use of technology to support language learners. My favorite authoring tool is Articulate Storyline, but good elearning modules can be created in many ways. Let's have a conversation about elearning modules!

Megan Kudzia is a Digital Scholarship Librarian at Michigan State University. Based in the Library’s Digital Scholarship Lab, she works with faculty and library colleagues, particularly on designing digital assignments and embedding in classes, and also with students on their digital projects. She is professionally involved in DH@MSU, Code4Lib, ILiADS, and Mi-ALA.



This AMA is answering your questions about digital pedagogy and digital research. Rather than addressing the Core technologies we’re using in teaching online, today we’re grappling with the often-steep learning curve for tools and methods such as website building, coding generally, textual analysis, or digital mapping. If you are struggling with how to structure assignments geared toward this type of work due to our current inability to troubleshoot together in person, or if you are a learner struggling with feelings of frustration as you try to muddle through on your own, let’s talk! Greetings! I'm Dustin De Felice and tomorrow (10/22) I will be hosting an AMA on ideas for Hyflex classrooms. With the addition of cameras and microphones in classroom spaces across campus, the ability to link students online and in person has never been greater. While there are still challenges with this type of classroom, I have been exploring various formats, scheduling strategies, and modality choices with an eye toward future semesters. Hello! My name is Sarah Schultz and I serve as the Director of My Spartan Story, MSU’s new co-curricular record. I am elated to be your #ama host for September 30! At MSU, we know students are participating in beyond-the-classroom experiences where learning is occurring such as jobs, leadership positions, student organizations, and more. Beginning this fall, students will be formally recognized for their engagement and learning through My Spartan Story and the Spartan Experience Record, an official MSU document which students can request through the Registrar’s Office alongside their transcript. As a new initiative at MSU, I am happy to answer questions on co-curricular experiences, how you can get involved with My Spartan Story, and all things beyond-the-classroom learning.
